A week around Vancouver & Tofino, British Columbia

I’m finally back with some new travel material for this blog. This past week, Mr. Chuckles and I embarked on our highly anticipated trip to British Columbia, Canada – our first long distance travel since 2019.

Usually, I like to publish daily trip diaries while travelling, but I decided to switch things up this time around and do a series of recaps after we return home. Here’s a look at our completed itinerary.

Our week in British Columbia

Day 1

Our first full day in Vancouver. Met up with friends for a day trip to Squamish with stops at Shannon Falls and Horseshoe Bay. Afternoon at English Bay Beach in Vancouver.

Day 2

Morning walk and lunch at Granville Island. Afternoon exploring Gastown. Dinner with friends in West End.

Day 3

Seaplane to Tofino. Afternoon walk on Long Beach.

Day 4

Morning whale and wildlife watching tour in Tofino. Easy afternoon hike on Meares Island Big Tree Trail. Return to Vancouver via seaplane in evening.

Day 5

Visit to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park in the morning. Final catch ups and goodbyes with friends for remainder of the day.

Keep an eye out for some upcoming posts about our time out west! You can find a few sneak peeks on Instagram.

  2. We never made it to Tofino or Vancouver Island while exploring Canada’s West coast, but I’ve always been fascinated by the island’s jaw-droppingly beautiful beaches, old-growth rainforest, rugged coastline and the natural beauty of the Clayoquot Sound. Therefore, I very much look forward to reading all about your adventures 🙂 Aiva xx
