Metropolitan diary: Dancing on the streets

Dear Diary:

My sister and I were visiting New York City over the May long weekend in 2016, and had spent our first morning at the American Museum of Natural History. Afterward, we strolled down Columbus Avenue, stopping outside the Lincoln Center to rest our tired feet.

While sitting on steps of the adjacent Christopher Columbus statue for some people watching, we were interrupted by the sight of a ballerina and her casually attired partner — pirouetting down the street and disappearing through a subway entrance.

Inspired by the NY Times Metropolitan Diary.
