Playa Bávaro, Punta Cana

Today I’m sharing with you a photo of Bávaro Beach at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

I have only ever been on two Caribbean island all-inclusive vacations, and my last was in 2018 when we travelled to Punta Cana. This resort town is located in La Altagracia, the easternmost province of the Dominican Republic. The area’s beaches and balnearios face both the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, making it a top destination for water-based activities including scuba diving, boating, fishing, and snorkelling.

The Hard Rock resort is the most luxurious and largest one I’ve stayed at, although my only other point of comparison is the modest Grenadian by Rex Resorts in Grenada. The 1,775 room hotel is set on the white sands of Bávaro Beach fronting the Atlantic Ocean, featuring 13 pools, 9 restaurants, and 23 bars. We didn’t have the chance to truly explore Dominican culture on this type of vacation, but it was a pleasant sunny escape from the harsh Canadian winter.
