Life in Colour: September – Gold

As summer comes to a close, we welcome a new Life in Colour Photo Challenge. This month, we are looking for shades of Gold.

Gold is the colour of wealth, of power, of gods. Gold-leaf applied to paintings, gold crowns and coins. But look also for golds in the natural world, a fish, a sunset or sunrise, flowers and autumn leaves or sunlight on water. Or capture the light in the ‘golden hour’.

  1. Wonderful photos! Thailand? Laos? Burma? Makes me yearn for SE Asia. Gold so enriches art. Beautiful sunset/rise too. We anticipate Fall gold here soon. Best wishes.

  3. Hey! Glad you’re back. Great captures of gold. No shortage of it in Asia! How’s the puppy? Where is Canada with travel restrictions these days?

    1. The puppy is keeping me busy and entertained! I’ve been much more active on our Instagram @gizmomo.tzu 😛

Travel has opened up in Canada for fully vaccinated people but I don’t think we will be going anywhere until spring 2022. The logistics are still nightmarish with insanely long airport lines, etc.

  5. SE Asia is a great region for capturing golds! Another lovely collection from you Jess. I have actually seen that Reclining buddha – so difficult to get photos of it due to the size and lack of space!

    1. I agree, that reclining Buddha is a sight to behold in person. Challenging to capture fully in images.

  7. The golden hour, indeed! There’s nothing quite like the glorious views of a setting sun. Same goes for embossed doors and ceilings of the world’s most-treasured architectures. Gold is certainly a color associated with wealth and sublimity!
