Life in Colour: July – Blue

Another month, another Life in Colour Photo Challenge. In July, we are looking at Blue. I’ve had a serious case of the “travel blues” these days so most of my selection was found from browsing old trip albums.

This month we will be looking for Blue. A primary colour that we look upon almost every day. But don’t forget about the different hues which include indigo and ultramarine, cyan and the other blue-greens such as turquoise, teal, and aquamarine. Blue also varies in shade or tint; darker shades of blue include ultramarine, cobalt blue, navy blue, and Prussian blue; while lighter tints include sky blue, azure, and Egyptian blue.

Speaking of travel, I don’t foresee anything happening for us until at least this winter, earliest in December. Perhaps we will consider a short sun vacation in the Caribbean somewhere, but we won’t go if there are still entry quarantine requirements in place. The good news is that we are getting a puppy imminently! This may end up becoming a puppy blog for the remainder of 2021. Stay tuned. 🐶

    1. Thank you! I’m getting a smaller and lower energy dog (Shih Tzu) but would love a golden retriever if I ever move into a larger place. Goldens need and deserve more space to run around!

  8. I love your photo collection! I usually associate blue colour with the sky, the sea, and the endless horizon. When you think about it, blue is a very prominent colour on earth, but when it comes to nature, blue is very rare. I am looking forward to your posts about your new puppy! Cheers and have a nice day 🙂 Aiva xxx

    1. Thank you! It is true that most of the blues we find in nature are skies and sea. I love blue flowers, now those are rare!

  10. Pretty pics! I’ve been looking at Canada’s COVID numbers you’re now in a better position than the US is, but I think we’re in the same boat travel-wise, at least internationally. We can go, but can we get back into our own country?

If you have to take a puppy detour, I’m all for it!!! Congratulations – that’s super exciting!!

    1. They finally got rid of the 14 day quarantine for returning Canadians who are fully vaccinated! But things are still a bit too complicated to travel internationally so I’m going to wait it out. Now I have a new puppy to distract me 🙂
