Following a month of Pink in April, we are now highlighting Purple in May for the Life in Colour Photo Challenge.
This month’s theme is a bit challenging, as HeyJude wants us to avoid Violet. Both are secondary shades of red and blue, but purple is red predominant and saturated, while the spectral colour of violet is more blue. I think I ended up slipping quite a few violets into this collection, but hopefully I can be forgiven for some colour blindness!
Purple…although found in nature in shades of crocuses, lilacs, and irises, look for the bruised colours in a sunrise or sunset, an indigo sea, a full moon in an inky sky. The darkness of a red wine, a rich velvet curtain or a starling’s wing.
