Sunday Funday: Signs around the world

Here’s one inspired by Tricia at Travels Through My Lens from her recent post on funny signs found around the world. Like Tricia, I love taking photos of signs. Sometimes they are amusing due to poor English translation, but for the most part it’s simply enjoyable to document the unique and quirky observations we make while travelling in new places.

  1. You’ve got a great eye! Speaking of loose translations, I often enjoy French translations in Canada, at least there is an effort.

    1. Thanks for reading! I guess my French is nowhere near good enough to catch the poor translations but I’m glad you appreciate the effort 😉

  7. Ha ha! Good idea! I have a couple of photos of signs, but not enough for a post. Guess I’ll have to start hunting for more.

A message to the sign-makers: It’s “Drive slowly!” Not “Drive slow.” Aaarghhh!! (Frustrated copyeditor-in-training here.)

    1. Not enough space on the sign to add the two extra letters 😛

  8. Haha! Love this. I’ve got SO many great sign photos, I kept meaning to put a post together of them. I’m surprised there are tsunami signs in Canada – I saw the exact same ones in Thailand!

    1. That was on the northern end of Vancouver Island, the only tsunami sign I’ve seen in Canada!
